Booking appointments has never been easier, and you can always find a time slot that fits your schedule. In more extreme cases of anxiety, we do offer nitrous-oxide gas or sedative medications to our patients. We always strive to ensure you are comfortable when you visit us!
How We Care for Your Teeth
The journey to a perfect smile always starts with the initial assessment. Hawksburn Village Dental puts a tremendous amount of effort into a comprehensive initial evaluation to form the basis for your future dental treatment and care. When you book your first visit to our practice, you will receive an examination that includes:
- Obtaining a written list of your medical/dental history, including any medication you take.
- Providing a thorough oral-cancer exam, both digitally and visually.
- X-rays that include a comprehensive view of your teeth and the condition of your bones.
- A Periodontal exam of your gums for any traces of gum disease.
- An occlusal exam to identify any bite issues, worn teeth, or jaw problems, including TMD (temporomandibular joint disorder, also called TMJ).
- A general dental exam of all your teeth, looking for cavities, or any other underlying conditions.
- Treatment of cavities or any other conditions as part of a detailed treatment plan.
What is Routine Dental Care?
Routine dental care is a process of regular checks and exams to ensure your optimal dental health. This routine care is at the core of preventive care. It can help you preserve a healthy smile, avoid future dental-health problems, and save you money on expensive treatments.
Routine dental care usually involves regular dental exams of your teeth, looking for cavities and signs of gum disease or oral cancer. We follow these exams with a thorough cleaning of your teeth and gums to remove plaque build-up, tartar, and stains. Regular teeth cleaning prevents gum disease and other severe dental problems.
The frequency of your routine dental exams depends on your age, overall dental health, and our dentist’s recommendation. Most people have a regular checkup one to time times annually. To book your appointment today, contact us!
