Are Dental Bridges Right For You?

When you arrive for your appointment at Hawksburn Village Dental, Dr. Pohl will examine your mouth to see if a dental bridge will work for you. If you are the right candidate for the treatment, we can complete the entire process in just two visits.

On your first visit, we will examine your mouth to determine if a dental bridge is the best solution for your gap. If so, we’ll begin preparing your mouth for the dental-bridge procedure. We will prepare the teeth on each side of the gap for crowns to anchor your dental bridge. We will then take an impression of your teeth to produce a dental bridge that blends in with your existing teeth. We’ll place a temporary bridge to protect your exposed teeth until your second visit.

We’ll set your second visit for after the lab completes your permanent bridge. We’ll then remove your temporary bridge and place the permanent one into place. You may need to schedule a follow-up appointment, so Dr. Pohl can check the placement of the bridge and ensure that you are not experiencing any discomfort at all.

When your dental bridge is in place, we recommend continuing to practice excellent oral hygiene and schedule regular teeth cleanings to maintain your dental health. A healthy mouth will also ensure that your dental bridge lasts for a longer period of time.
